About Mr. Ravi Kant

Mr. Ravi Kant has nearly 50 years of corporate experience in extractive, consumer durable and automobile industries. As CEO and managing director of Tata Motors and later Vice Chairman, he led the acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover, UK & Tata Daewoo, South Korea, which helped increase the revenue from $1.5 to $ 39 bn. He was chairman of Tata Advanced Materials, Hispano Carrocera, Spain, Tata Motors European Technical Centre, U.K. Tata Marco Polo, Tata Thailand, Tata Daewoo and director on Tata Industries, Voltas, Vedanta Ltd. and Jaguar Land Rover. He was on board of Consumer Electronics of Philips India, National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and Centre of Extractive Industry at the Earth Institute University of Columbia and CGIO, Business School, National University of Singapore.

Currently he is on the board of Kone Ltd, Helsinki, Hawkins Cookers Ltd and Advisory Board of Accenture India, business schools at IIT Mumbai & Kharagpur and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Akhand Jyoti Hospital.

Mr. Kant studied at Mayo College Ajmer, did B. Tech Hons at IIT Kharagpur, and M.Sc. in Management techniques in industry from Aston University, Birmingham UK.
